Annie Ruch, 95, of Bezanson Annie Ruch, long time resident of the Bezanson, Alberta area, passed away on Friday, November 19, 1993, at age 95. Annie Albus was born in Zurich, Switzerland on August 3, 1898. She married Hans Ruch in Zurich on August 1, 1919. Their first 2 children were born there. In the summer of 1922, they came to Canada, sailing on the liner Brittania. They travelled across Canada, with stops at Brandon, Manitoba, Battleford Saskatchewan, and Tofield, Alberta, finally settling in the Peace River Country in 1927, in the Fitzsimmons and Bezanson area. They raised a family of 8 children. Annie is survived by, and will be sadly missed by all her children: Eva (Bruce) Hollingworth, Lenora Fogle, Alberta (Neil) Patterson, Evelyn McMillin, Charlotte Patterson, Olive Strid, Margaret (John) Courtney), and Hans (Carol) Ruch; also 29 grandchildren; and many greatgrandchildren, and great-greatgrandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Hans on November 26, 1975; sons-in-law: Lester Strid, Toni Fogle, Ray McMillin; grandson Daryl McMillin: grandson-in-law Darell Hawkes: and greatgreat-granddaughter Sulveig Van Slyke. Funeral service for the late Annie Ruch was held on Monday, November 22, 1993, at 11:00 a.m. at the Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, Bezanson, Alberta: interment following at the Glen Leslie Cemetery. Hans Ruch Mr. Hans Ruch, Sr. passed away on November 26, 1975, at Grande Prairie, at the age of 77 years. He was born at Berne, Switzerland, June 10, 1898. He married Annie Albus of Zurich, in Zurich, Switzerland in 1919. Two daughters, Iva and Charlotte, were born in Switzerland. In 1921 they immigrated to Canada, living in Manitoba and Saskatchewan for a few years. During this time two more daughters, Olive and Lenora were born. In 1928 they came to the Peace River Country, and settled in the Bezanson area. Three more daughters, Alberta, Margaret, Evelyn, and I son, Hans, were born, Mr. Ruch is survived by his wife Annie; 1 son, Hans, 7 daughters, Iva, Charlotte, Lenora, Olive, Alberta, Margaret and Evelyn; 30 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held from the Oliver Funeral Chapel on Friday, November 28, 1975, at 1:30 p.m., with Fr. R. McNally officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Wayne Patterson, Ken Fogle, Richard Hollingworth, Doug Ruch, Brian Patterson, Bradley Courtney. Interment will follow at the Glen Leslie Cemetery. Donations to the Heart Fund would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements are by Oliver Funeral Chapel. |
