Patrick (Paddy) Brown, 75, of Grande Prairie Patrick (Paddy) Brown passed away on Thursday, May 14, 1998 at the age of 75 years, after a lengthy illness. Patrick was predeceased by his father George Brown, mother Lucy Brown, brothers Lloyd Brown, John Brown and Donald Brown and sister Julia Sieben. He leaves to mourn his sisters Violet (George) Knight, Rachel Tink, Gerrie (Gordon) Edginton, twin sister Patricia McIntosh, Doreen (Terry) LiveIton, his cousins and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, M ay 20, 1998. Lloyd Auguste Brown Lloyd Auguste Brown passed away at the age of 47 years. Mr. Brown was born at Morinville, Sask., and has been a resident of Grande Prairie. He leaves to mourn his passing 3 brothers, John, Woking, Donald and Pat, Grande Prairie. 6 sisters, Mrs. Violet Knight, Grande Prairie, Mrs. Julia Sieben, Chilliwack, Mrs. Gertrude Edgington, Sunset House, Mrs. Rachel Tink, Clairmont, Mrs. Patricia McIntosh, Sardis, B.C., Mrs. Doreen Livelton, North Vancouver, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father George in 1957 and his Mother Lucy in 1973. Funeral arrangements were held June 14, at 2:30 p.m. from the Oliver Funeral Chapel with Fr. R. McNally officiating, interment followed in the Glen Leslie Cemetery. Pallbearers were Melvin Brown, David Brown, George Brown, Bryan Tink, Elmer Ford and Darrel Tink. Donations to the crippled children's fund would be appreciated. Arrangements were by the Oliver Funeral Home. Donald George Brown Mr. Donald George Brown passed away at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital, Grande Prairie, Alberta, on Saturday, July 8, 1989, at the age of 69. He was born at Slave Lake, Alberta. on September 17, 1919. He was raised in the Glen Leslie area, and farmed in Teepee Creek from 1942 until 1970, at which time he moved to Grande Prairie. Donald is survived by his wife Pat, children, Melvin (Karen), Betty (Orval) Sorken, David (Peggy), Dale (Trish). Helen (Jim) McQuaig, Russel (Gail), Brad (Linda), Lorne (Elaine). Ted (Leona), Ron (Eveline), and Kelly, also daughters-in-law Patricia Brown, and Maureen Sabourin: 20 grandchildren. and 1 great-grandchild. Donald is also survived by one brother Patrick. and sisters, Violet (George) Knight, Julia Sieben, Gerte (Gordon) Edginton, Rachel (Roy) Tink, Patricia McIntosh, and Doreen (Terry) Livelton, also sister-in-law Babe Brown: and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father in 1958 his mother in 1972, two brothers,. and one infant sister. Funeral service for the late Donald Brown will he held at Christ Church Anglican, 6610 Poplar Drive, Grande Prairie, Alberta, on Thursday, July 13, 1989, at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Canon E. P. Williston and the Rev. Canon Isaac Graham officiating. Interment to follow at the Glen Leslie Cemetery. Following the interment service friends are invited to join with the family in the Teepee Creek Hall for a time of fellowship. Visitation for family and friends will be held at the Oliver Funeral Chapel, Grande Prairie, on Wednesday evening. July 12th, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital Respiratory Fund would be greatly appreciated by the family. Pat Brown It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear Mother, Grandma, great-Grandma and great-great-Grandma, on Sunday, March 1, 2015, at the age of 93. She will be sadly missed by her 11 children: Melvin, Betty Sorken (Orval), David (Ellen), Dale (Alejandra), Helen McQuaig (Jim), Russel, Brad, Lorne (Elaine), Ron (Eveline) and Kelly. Daughters in-law: Karen Brown, Pat Schultz, Maureen Ophus, Linda Martin, and Moe Brown. She will remain in the hearts of her 27 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; brothers Jim and Bruce (Evelyn); sisters in-law: Pearl McLaughlin, Violet Rycroft and Jenny Rycroft. She was predeceased by her husband Donald, her brothers: Eric (Rita), Bob (Mildred), Theodore, Sam (Gertie), Mark (Ruth), Gordon (Dorothy), Danny and Monty; sister in-law Edith; daughters in-law Trish and Gail Brown. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother, caring friend, great cook, excellent berry picker and accomplished moose meat butcher. She has given us so much and we are so fortunate to have received her love, humor and family; and will be forever in our hearts. On Saturday, March 7th, 2015 the family will hold an open house from 2:00 - 5:00 pm with a celebration of life presentation at 3:00 pm at the Teepee Creek Hall. Gordon W. Edginton Gordon W. Edginton passed away suddenly at Sylvan Lake, Alta. Gordon was born in Nacusp, British Columbia. He farmed in the Sunset House area for many years. In 1976 he retired from the farm and moved to Creston, B.C. Gordon lived in many places and settled in Sylvan Lake in 1991. Gordon leaves to mourn his wife of 51 years, Gertrude, and many other relatives and friends. A Service of Remembrance for the late Gordon Edginton will be held from the Chapel of the Sylvan Lake Funeral Home, Sylvan Lake, on Saturday, July 22, 2000 at 2:30 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may he made to the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation, or to the charity of the donors choice. Gertrude Edginton of, Grande Prairie, Gertrude Edginton resident of Grande Prairie, passed away at the QE II Hospital on Tuesday. November 30, 2004. Gertrude was born at Sawridge (Slave Lake) and moved to the Grande Prairie area, early in life. She grew up and went to school in the Glen Leslie area. Gertrude worked in and around Edmonton, farmed in Sunset House area for many years and retired to various locations through B.C. and Alberta before returning, to Grande Prairie for the last three years. She will be sadly missed by her sisters Violet Knight and Patricia McIntosch: sisters-in-law Patsi Brown and Babe Brown and numerous nieces and nephews. Gertrude was predeceased by her husband Gordon, Parents Lucie and George Brown; brothers John Brown, Donald Brown, Lloyd Brown and Paddy Brown; sisters Julia Seiben, Doreen Livelton, Rachel Tink and Edna Brown. A memorial service will he held at Oliver's Grande Prairie Funeral Chapel on Saturday. December 4 at I p.m. with burial of ashes in Glen Leslie Cemetery. Ford Sieben, 81, of Grande Prairie Julia Ford Sieben, a longtime resident of The Bezanson area, passed away peacefully at Heritage Lodge on May 29, 1997. She was born June 1, 1915. Julia was active in her community. She and her husband Harold owned and operated Ford's store and had the post office until his passing, She then moved to Chilliwack to assist her widowed sister Pat, It was there that she met and married Jack Sieben. They then moved back to retire in Grande Prairie. Julia leaves to mourn her passing her children, Elmer (Joan) Ford, Jim (Donna) Ford, Kay (Keith) Coney, Danny (Marion) Ford, and Judy Purves. She is also survived by five granddaughters, six grandsons, twelve great-grandchildren, five sisters and one brother. Julia was predeceased by her husband Harold Ford in 1968 and second husband Jack Sieben in 1985, one son-in-law Mark in 1996, one granddaughter Charlene and great-granddaughter Desiree in 1986, two grandsons, Ernie Ford in 1988 and Jamie Ford in 1994. Violet E. Knight Violet E. Knight (1914-2007) long-time resident of Grande Prairie, Alberta, passed away at the QEII Hospital on Thursday, November 29, 2007 at the age of 93 years. After numerous moves as a child, Violet and her family settled in the Grande Prairie area where she resided all of her life. She will be sadly missed by her children; Allan and his wife Darlene, and Bonnie Macklin as well as her seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sister Patricia MacIntosh, her sister-in-law Patsy Brown and numerous nieces and nephews. Violet was predeceased by her husband George, her brothers John, Donald, Paddy and Lloyd Brown, her sisters Rachel Tink, Julia Seaban, Gertie Edginton and Doreen Livelton. George leaves to mourn his loving wife of 62 years, Violet; his son, Allan his wife Darlene and their family, Lori and her fiancee Stuart and Troy; his daughter, Bonnie Macklin and her family, Deryle, Brent and his wife, Sue, Wade, Royce and his wife, Dara and Tanya and her fiancee, Bill; his sister, Edith Wilson; special niece, Marjorie, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and other family members. Patricia Dorothy (Ford) Brown McIntosh On November 14, 2012 Patricia passed away at the age of 90 years. She is survived by her children, Sylvia Houle, Wayne Ford, Gil Ford, Duncan McIntosh, Doreen Oosterhuis, Joyce Helmers and Jayson McIntosh; 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Pat was predeceased by her husband Vernon Leslie Ford (1962), and husband Gordon McIntosh (1966), and son –in-law Raymond Houle (2012). Pat passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Grey Nuns hospital in Edmonton after a brief illness. Pat was the last line of the Browns consisting of 6 sisters and 4 brothers.
