David Sneddon Burrows On Thursday, February 6, 2014, Mr. David Sneddon Burrows passed away peacefully at the age of 89 years. David will be remembered by his children: John, Judy, Peter and their families; his sister Helen (Jim Horrigan; and by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Oliver’s Funeral Chapel (10005 107 Ave). BURROWS, Dale: October 10, 1946 – April 1, 2014
Dale Burrows Dale Burrows, longtime resident of Grande Prairie passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at the age of 67. Dale was born on October 10, 1946 in Grande Prairie to Leslie and Wilma Burrows. He had many different occupations over the years. Dale married Sharon Hamilton on April 13, 1968 and together they raised three daughters. Dale dearly loved his four grandchildren. Dale is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Sharon; daughter Shannon (Garnet) McQuaig and their daughter Kali; daughter Dionne Brown (Jim Alford) and her son Brennan; daughter Christie (Brian) Spronk and their daughters Aila and Emmie; his brothers in-law Lynn Miller and Wayne (Sharon) Hamilton; Brennan’s father Richard Brown; as well as a large extended family. He was predeceased by his parents Leslie and Wilma Burrows, Sharon’s parents Frank and Vivian Hamilton; sister Lois Miller; nephews Corey King and Andrew Hamilton. The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses of ICU Unit at the QEII Hospital for the compassionate care given to Dale. At Dale’s request there will be no funeral service. The family will hold an open house at a later date. Burrows, Alexander, 80, of Ottawa: - July 23, 1998 Alexander (Alec) Burrows passed away in Ottawa, Ont. on Thursday, July 23, 1998, at the age of 80 years. Beloved husband of Winifred Butcher, loving father of Margaret "Babs" (Alan Robertson), Janet (Philip Boakes), James "Jim" (Barbara Edwards) and Ian (Angela Dawson). Cherished grandfather of Christopher, David, Stephen, Karen, Mark, Keith, and six great-grandchil-dren. Dear brother of Leslie, David and Helen "Sis". Robert Burrows Robert Burrows passed away on March 3, 1973 at the age of 92 years. Mr. Burrows was born in Scotland and came to Canada from Scotland in 1927, he farmed at Glen Leslie and retired to Grande Prairie in 1951. He leaves to mourn his passing one daughter Mrs. Jim (Helen) Horrigan of Grande Prairie, eight sons, Tom of Edmonton, George and Bill of Calgary, Les of Grande Prairie, Alex of Montreal, David, England, Hector, Faust and John of Scotland, two stepsons and a stepdaughter, 32 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 2 great-greatgrandchildren, he was predeceased by his wife Mary and two sons and one daughter. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 6 at 10 a.m. from the Oliver Funeral Home with Rev. C. Bigelow officiating, interment followed in the Glen Leslie Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ralph Girvan, Jack Wales, Andrew Garrett, Archie Hackwell, Howard Withers and Pat Garrett. Arrangements were by the Oliver Funeral Home. Mary Burrows Mrs. Robt. Burrows Of Glen Leslie Died On Sat... July 8th Born In Scotland, Mrs. Burrows Came To The Peace River In 1927 She Made A Host Of Friends In East End, All Of Whom Deeply Mourn Her Passing - Many Attend The Funeral. The funeral of Mrs. Robert Burrows of Glen Leslie, who passed away at Grande Prairie on Saturday, July 8 was held on Tuesday, July 11, services being held in the Glen Leslie Church. Rev. C. E. Fisher of Forbes Presbyterian Church Grande Prairie, officiated. The church was filled to capacity and many had to stand outside. This large attendance and the many floral tribute bore testimony of the high esteem in which Mrs. Burrows was held in the district. Led by Mrs. Roy Ames at the organ, the following hymns were sung: "Jesus Saviour Pilot Me" and 'Safe in the Arms of Jesus" Burial took place in the Glen Leslie cemetery. The following were the pallbearers: Steve, Bill and John Garrett Ray Lott, Bill Purvis and Jack Stark. Mrs. Burrows was born in Stirlingshire 53 years ago and in 1927 came with the family to Glen Leslie, where Mr. Burrows took lands. While here Mrs. Burrows made a host of friends, all of whom deeply regret her passing. The following are left to mourn their loss: Husband, three daughters and nine sons - Mrs. Steve Donahue, May and Helen, James, John, Tom, Hector, Bill, Alex, George, David and Leslie. Floral tributes were sent by the family, sons and daughters; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Lott and family; Mr. and Mrs John Garrett; Katie, Pete and family; Mrs Voz, Florence and Albert; teachers and pupils of Somme School; Miss Florence Smith; Grande Prairie District Cooperative; Mr. and Mrs. E. Wilma Eileen Burrows (Scott) Wilma Eileen Burrows passed away at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital, Grande Prairie, Alberta on Friday, January 25, 1991, at age 65. Wilma was born in the Crystal Creek area on August 1, 1925, where she resided with her family until she married in 1945. Wilma was known for her great love for the outdoors. Wilma is survived by her loving husband Leslie Burrows; son Dale (Sharon), and granddaughters: Shannon, Dionne, and Christie of Grande Prairie; daughter Lois Jean (Lynn) Miller, and grandsons: Corey, Kevin, and Ryan of Bezanson; her brother Dale (Carol) Scott of Vancouver, Washington; 3 sisters: Rhoda (Elwin) Howlett of Vernon, B.C., Barbara (Bud) Niehenke of Spokane, Washington, and Hazel (Benny) Saine of Marietta, Georgia. Wilma was predeceased by her parents Eileen and Stuart Scott. Visitation will be held at Oliver Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, January 29, 1991, at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service for the late Wilma Eileen Burrows will be held at Oliver Funeral Chapel, Grande Prairie, Alberta, on Wednesday, January 30, 1991, at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Lois was born in Grande Prairie on June 22, 1949 to Leslie & Wilma Burrows and was raised in Bezanson and Grande Prairie. She was employed by the Grande Prairie School District for approximately 20 years: She has also been employed by the Bezanson Store, Co-op Gas bar and most recently at the Southview IGA deli. Lois is survived by her father, Leslie Burrows; her husband Lynn; Sons Kevin (Serena) King & Ryan Miller (Crystal Parker); daughter-in-law Audra King; stepdaughter Karen Egar; grandchildren Jordyn King, Keaton King, Gracey King, Samuel King, Ashia Parker, and one expectant; brother Dale (Sharon) Burrows (Shannon, Dionne, Christie); sisters-in-law Margaret and Grant Moon (Terry and Donna), Bev and Larry Felles (Glen and Roddy), Chris and Jean Miller (Aaron and Kelly), Joanne and Tommy Loewen (Bobby and Billy) and many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention. Lois was predeceased by her mother, Wilma Burrows; son Corey King and parents-in-law Carlyle and Dorothy Miller. Funeral service will be held on Monday, May 29, 2006 at 1 p.m. at the Grande Prairie Alliance Church (7702 - 100th St.) with Rev. Greg Mulligan officiating. (Allison), Lyndsay, Kailyn (Dan), Torry, Mike (Nicole), and Sean
(Jamie); great-grandchildren: Ashley, Emily, Sophia, Cohen, Cody,
Dylan, Matthew, Ezra, Olivia, Mikayla, Madison, Haven, Cross, Evan,
Spencer, Olivia, Connor, and Miah; as well as numerous nieces,

A Funeral Liturgy will be held on
Saturday, May 14, 2016, at 11:00am, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in
