BULFORD, Annie Mary Madelaine: May 12, 1922 - February 2, 2015
Annie Bulford Annie Mary Madelaine Bulford passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, February 2, 2015 at the Points West Hospice in Grande Prairie at the age of 92. Annie was born on the family farm just west of Bezanson on May 12, 1922 to Michael and Madelaine Diederich. Annie was raised in Bezanson but moved with her brother Henry to the Mission in Peace River after their mother passed away in 1929. They spent 7 years there, only coming home for the summer holidays. When she moved back home, she attended school at East Kleskun, and St. Joseph’s. After graduation she took her schooling in Edmonton to become a lab technician. She worked there for a period of time until moving back home with her dad. Annie met Harvey Bulford and they were married June 25, 1947. Together they raised five children, two girls and three boys. Family was very important to Annie and she always led by example with her unconditional love and caring ways, instilling those same values in each of her children. Harvey passed away in 1990, Annie remained in her home on the farm until 2012 when she moved into Heritage Lodge. A devout Catholic and lifetime member of the Catholic Women’s League, her faith in God was her strength and inspiration throughout her life. She was a pillar of the community and always led by example, giving back, volunteering many, many hours wherever she was needed. Her quiet, unassuming, thoughtful, generous and gentle ways will be thought of often and missed forever. A doting mom, grandma and great-grandma, she never missed a birthday or special event. With God and family being the cornerstone of her existence, she and her family have been truly blessed. She is lovingly remembered and will be missed by her five children: Lynne (Gerald) Oe, Melvin (Marion) Bulford, Grant (Kathleen) Bulford, Bev (Stan) Tissington, Harold (Robyn) Bulford; 17 grandchildren: Kelvin (Judy) Oe, Michelle (Derek) Stokke, Bradley (Carey) Oe, Laura (Jake) Wasylchew, Colleen (Devon) Bulford, Stanley (Kristyn) Bulford, Sheila (Trevor) Bulford, Monica (Wade) Doris, Tammy (Chad) Bulford, Sean (Shelanne) Bulford, Ryan (Jenny) Bulford, Danny (Pyper) Bulford, Marty (Janeen) Tissington, Sheldon (Michelle) Tissington, Kyla (Jason) Tissington, Brandon Bulford and Madison Bulford; 31 great-grandchildren; brother Henry and sister-in-law Myrtle Diederich; brother-in-law Elmer Bulford and sister-in-law Elenor Bain, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
