DOLL, Frances Katherine: September 28, 1923 - October 10, 2015 {also on Heck grave stone page}
Frances Doll It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Frances Doll on Saturday, October 10, 2015, at her home in Points West Living, surrounded by her family, at the age of 92 years. Frances was born in Waterhole, AB September 28, 1923 to Mari-Eva and Martin Heck. She was the second eldest of 14 children. Frances grew up in a time when hard work and helping others was the norm. She learned skills that would serve her well as a wife and mom and that she would pass on to her children. Frances married Tony Doll on October 28, 1947, and together they raised 9 children. They started married life on a farm in the Fredinstal area, just outside of Fairview, AB. In June, 1959, they moved to their own section of land, east of Grande Prairie, which was her home until Dad`s passing in 1998. Frances is survived by her children: James (Dorothy) and family, Charles (Eunice) and family, Mary Hansen, Marvin and family, Marilyn (John) and family, Bernice (Grant) LaValley and family, Bill (Janet) and family, Ben (Sherry) and family and Elaine (Lonnie) Cissell and family, David and family; sisters: Catherine Basarab, Dee Hills, and Veronica Bast; sisters in-law: Marion Doll and Emily Logan. She was predeceased by her husband Tony, her parents and granddaughter Daylene Doll; brothers: George, Harry, Benjamin, David, Billy and Bobby; sisters: Rosemarie, Mary, Magdalena and Margaret. Prayers will be held on Friday, October 16, 2015 at 7:30pm at Oliver`s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 2:00pm at St. Joseph`s Catholic Church in Grande Prairie (10404 102 St.), with Father Ed Eherer C.S.s.R. presiding. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Canadian National Institute for the Blind (229, 9804 100 Ave, Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 0T8), Grande Prairie Meals on Wheels (102-9905 101 Ave, Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 0X7), or the Disabled Transportation Society (9505 112 St., Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 6H8). |

Tony Doll, 79, of Grande Prairie It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Tony Doll at the Fairview Health Complex on September 26, 1998, just short of his 80th birthday. Tony was born in Fairview, Alta., on November 17, 1918. He is survived by his wife, Frances of 50 years; nine children: limes (Dorothy), Charles (Eunice), Mary Hansen (Marvin), Marilyn Hawryluk (John), Bernice LaValley (Grant), Bill (Janet), Ben (Sherry), Elaine Cissell (Lonnie), David (Maureen) and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Kim, Corry, Karen, Kara, Niki, Clayton, Cindy, Cody, Shawndel, T.J., Laura, Trevor, Dusty, Amanda, Liza, Katie, Darren, Carson, Chase, Jodie, Amber, Cotten, Karter, Wyatt and Telsa. Tony served in the Second World War and remained an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 244. Upon returning from service, Tony took up farming in the Friedenstal district and in 1947 married Frances Heck. Over the next 15 years Tony and Frances were blessed with nine children. In 1959 Tony and Frances moved to Grande Prairie where Tony continued to farm and later worked at the Canfor plywood plant as a heavy duty mechanic and in 1983 he retired but continued to guide and support his children and grandchildren. Tony was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren influencing them in so many ways. He was a kind and honest man, and he had a zest for life. He enjoyed playing his Fiddle and received several fiddling trophies. He enjoyed the many trips he took with the family and friends, particularly his trip to the Indianapolis 500. He took up golfing and played many enjoyable games with friends and he always looked forward to the annual summer golf tournament that brought family and friends together. He never missed a chance to take his grandsons to demolition derbies and was proud to be on hand when his grandson won the Novice Bareback Championship at the Calgary Stampede in 1997. He will be sadly missed. Tony is predeceased by a granddaughter, Daylene Doll and two brothers, George and Willie. Prayer services will be held on Thursday, October 1, 1998 at 7:45 p.m. at Oliver's Grande Prairie Funeral Chapel, 10005-107 Avenue, Grande Prairie. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 2, 1:30 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Mick Fleming C.Ss.R. celebrant. Interment in the Glen Leslie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Arthritis Society. Mary Katherine Hansen It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our much-loved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and Aunt Mary Hansen. Mary passed away on July 8th, 2023, at the age of 70 years in the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital with her family by her side. Mary was born in Fairview, Alberta on August 11, 1952, to Francis and Tony Doll. Born into a large family, she was 1 of 9 siblings. Brothers: Jim, Charles, Bill, Ben, and David. Sisters: Marilyn, Bernice, and Elaine. Mary enjoyed visiting with her brothers and sisters, family, and friends, and loved spending quality time with her grandchildren Cameron, Conner, and Caley. Mary was survived by her loving husband Marvin, children Cindy and Cody, and numerous other family and friends. Mary was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A Celebration of Life for Mary will be held on Saturday, July 29th at 11:00 am at the Bear Creek Funeral Home in Grande Prairie, AB.
