Aurore Plante
   Aurore Plante, longtime resident of Grande Prairie, formerly of Joussard and Kinuso, passed away at Points West Hospice in Grande Prairie, on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at the age of 86 years. Aurore was born in Legal, AB on March 8, 1928, the second oldest of six children and spent her childhood and youth in the Joussard area. On October 15, 1945.
   Aurore married Achille Plante and together they raised 10 children on the farms in Joussard and Kinuso until they moved to Grande Prairie in 1972. While living in Grande Prairie, she had many different jobs outside of the home, including cooking in various restaurants, Proctor & Gamble and the Grande Spirit Foundation, cooking at both Wild Rose and Heritage Lodges. She loved to visit with people and was always making sure that everyone had enough to eat.
   Upon retiring, she was able to spend more time with her family and always enjoyed having a house full of people. Whether it was back on the family farm in Kinuso which they spent some summers at, or in Grande Prairie where everyone was always welcome to drop in. Aurore will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her 10 children: Hedy (Joe) Glenn, Don (Betty), Fred (Doris), Georgette Lainchbury, Pete (Janet), David (Suzanne), Lillian Greene (Theo), Diane (Larry) Naslund, Lucie (Ernie) Ewanchuk, and Doris (Patrick) Rego; 25 grandchildren and their spouses; 44 great-grandchildren; sister Aline Dube, brother Ray (Elsie) Duchesneau and sister in-law Theresa Prefontaine; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Aurore was predeceased by her husband Achille Plante in May 2011, daughter in-law Rose Plante, parents Joe and Philomene Duchesneau, sisters Germaine Griffin, Rita Quinn and brother Albert.
   A gathering and viewing for family and friends will take place on Friday, March 28, 2014 from 7:00-9:30pm at Oliver’s Funeral Chapel in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave).
   Mass of Christian Burial Service will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 1:00pm at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grande Prairie (10404 102 St.). Interment to follow at the Glen Leslie Cemetery.
   In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Grande Prairie Hospice and Palliative Care Society (P.O. Box 21215 Grande Prairie, AB T8V 6W7).

Achille (Archie) Plante long time resident of Grande Prairie, Alberta, formerly of Joussard and Kinuso, Alberta passed away at Grande Prairie on Monday, May 23, 2011 at the age of 85 years. Archie was born in Edmonton, Alberta in 1925, the youngest of 16. His family moved to the Joussard area when he was still a young lad. It was there he met his bride Aurore and they were married in 1945. Archie and Aurore raised 10 children on the farm until they moved to Grande Prairie 40 years ago. Once in Grande Prairie he continued to work first for Beaver Lumber and later for Procter & Gamble. Archie was an avid card player, crib being his favorite game. He loved to fish, enjoyed gardening and woodworking.
   Archie will be sadly missed by his wife of 65 years Aurore; his children; Hedy (Joe) Glenn, Don, Fred (Doris), Georgette Lainchbury, Pete (Janet), Dave (Suzanne), Lillian Green (Theo), Diane (Larry) Naslund, Lucie (Ernie) Ewanchuk, Doris (Patrick) Rego; his 43 grandchildren and spouses; and 41 great grandchildren; his sister Theresa Prefontaine of Prince George, BC, and numerous nieces and nephews.
   Archie was predeceased by his parents and his 14 brothers and sisters and his daughter-in-law Rose Plante.
   A celebration of Archie’s life will be held at Oliver’s Funeral Chapel in Grande Prairie, Saturday, May 28, 2011 at 10:00 AM.
