K. Mary Marcy (Funnell), 70, of Grande Prairie K. Mary Marcy (Funnell) passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 1997 at the QE II Hospital in Grande Prairie, Alta. at the age of 70 years. Mary was born on April 27, 1927 at Halcourt, Alta. and was educated and worked in Grande Prairie before marrying Lyall Marcy. Together they farmed in the Crystal Creek area, and later she resided in Grande Prairie, Alta. Mary was very active with her children in the Grande Prairie 4-H Beef Club, was a member of the Royal Purple, a life member of the Grande Prairie Ag. Society and was active in judging horticulture exhibits at fairs in the Peace River area. She was also a member of Grande Prairie & District Old Timers Association. Mary is also survived by her daughter Dianne and Peter Guest, sons: Dana, Phillip and Ida, Wayne and Barbara, and Ray and Laurie. She is also survived by her sisters Gwen (Ewart) Loucks of Ft. St. John and Dorothy (Guy) Ireland of Grande Prairie, also her grandchildren: Richard, Buffy, Fern, Timothy, Scott, Travis, numerous nieces, nephews, and many relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her infant son, Gordon Donald, her daughter-in-law Lynn Marcy and her sister M. Elizabeth (Betty) Haiste. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Alberta Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Public visitation for the late Mary Marcy will be held on Thursday, June 26, 1997 at 7:30- 8:30 p.m. at Oliver's Grande Prairie Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 27, at 2 p.m. from Christ Church Anglican, Canon Isaac Graham officiating. Interment to follow in Glen Leslie Cemetery. Lyall Ralph Marcy Lyall Ralph Marcy of Grande Prairie passed away on Friday, October 7, 2005, at the Q.E.II Hospital in Grande Prairie, at the age of 77 years. He was surrounded by family and friends. Lyall was a longtime rancher of Angus cattle in the Crystal Creek area. He was an avid baseball player (shortstop, first-base umpire). He enjoyed dancing, fishing and family outings. He hosted numerous oyster fries and graduation parties south of the ranch. He was a member of the Elks and Legion clubs, as well as a longtime member of Peace River Stock Growers Association. He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Burcky Marcy in 1947 and Rose Georgina Hillman (nee Boyd) in 1996; his wife of 30 years, Kathleen Mary (nee Funnell) in 1997; infant son, Gordon Donald in 1952; his stepfather, Toni Hillman in 1981; his only sister, Joycelyn (Joyce) Lois Parks in 1996 and his only brother. Miles Irwin Marcy in 2000. He is survived by: his children: Dianne Guest (Peter), Dana Marcy, Phillip Marcy (Audra McKinley), Wayne Marcy (Barbara), Ray Marcy (Laurie); numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and also his soulmate, Lorraine Parsons. Public visitation for family and friends will he held on Wednesday, October 12, 2005. at 7 p.m. from Oliver's Grande Prairie Funeral Chapel (10005-107 Ave.) Grande Prairie. Funeral service will he held on Thursday, October 13, 2005, at 2 p.m. from Peoples Church (11850-108 St.) Grande Prairie, with Pastor Paul Juss officiating. Burial will follow at the Glen Leslie Cemetery. Special thanks to Dr. J. Pope in Grande Prairie, Dr. Mercer and Dr. MacArthur of the U of A Hospital and the physicians and staff of the Q.E.II Hospital ICU. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation.
