Ogden, Brandy Mary-Lynn: May 19, 1983 - March 08, 2025
With endless love and deep sorrow, we announce the passing of our
beloved daughter, sister, and auntie, Brandy Mary-Lynn Ogden. Brandy
came into this world fighting for her life on May 19th, 1983, and after
a courageous battle with cancer, she traded her wheels for wings on
March 8th, 2025, at the age of 41 years old.Brandy was born in the Royal Alex Hospital in Edmonton AB, to Ray and Linda Ogden. She spent 2.5 months in the hospital, while her older brother David eagerly waited to meet his baby sister. She then arrived at the Grande Prairie Hospital where she spent two weeks to become strong enough to go home. On the farm where she grew up, she developed a love for animals. Brandy attended Crystal Park Pre School to then be a member of her community school in Bezanson in Grade one and finally graduating from Sexsmith High School in 2002. Brandy moved to Grande Prairie the following year where she began working at the Sears Department Store and continued her employment for the next 10 years. As an avid crafter, she spent countless hours making both baby and wedding gifts for those she loved. Brandy spent many hours and miles with her family, traveling the chuckwagon circuit. She was surrounded by a loving extended family who were dearly known as her greatest fan. Brandy did not let her challenges define her; she was a pioneer in 4H as the first person to show animals from her wheelchair. Her projects included horses and sheep. Brandy will be sadly missed by her parents Ray and Linda Ogden, brother David (Lindsay) Ogden, nieces Jurnee Bruce (Riley), Kayla Slaney Shane (Morgan) Slaney, great nephew Coy Slaney, aunts and uncles, Leslie and Adele Fraser, Shirley and Elmer Westergaard, Bob Ogden and Alva Sorken, and numerous cousins and friends including her little buddy bear. Brandy was predeceased by her sister Sherie Lynn, aunts Marilyn, Carolyn and uncle Tommy, grandparents Bert and Wauneita Ogden, Adolph and Mary (Sorken) Rea, and her step–grandpa Gorden Rea. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses in unit 12 at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital; as well as Dr. Piepgrass for all his kind words, her family practitioner Dr. Ojodun along with the staff at the Prairie Lake Hospice. The Celebration of Life will be held at Olivers Funeral Home (10005 107 Avenue Grande Prairie, AB) on March 22nd at 11am. Refreshments and fellowship to follow.
