RIGLER, Marvin: June 15, 1952 - January 5, 2001
Marvin Roy Rigler, 48, of Grande Prairie
On January 8, 2001, Marvin Roy Rigler, lifetime resident of Grande Prairie, passed
away suddenly, at the Queen Elizabeth II hospital. Marvin was born on June 15,
1952, in Grande Prairie.Marvin is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Ethel, sons Ryan and Cory and daughter Suzanne, his mother Elsie Rigler, sister Beverley Baker (Stanley), brothers; Wilfred (Linda), Gary (Marge), Ernie (Gillian). Philip (Charlene), sister Cherrie Lynn, father and mother-in-law Desmond and Lorice Stark. brothers and sister-sin-law Lorraine Kruger (Wally), Gary (Beverly). Murray (leaderdog Daisey). Randy (Kathy), Dale (Angela), uncles and aunts Ethel Dougan, Albert and Betty Rigler, Don and Erna Stark, Polly and Buster Patterson, Earl and Allie Weegar. Harvey and Pat Weegar. Delmer and Betty Weegar and numerous nephews and nieces. Marvin was predeceased by his father Percy on October 10, 1989. Marvin had a love for family and the great outdoors. He loved camping and hunting and spent many enjoyable days living life to the fullest. When Marvin was young and trying to decide what to do in life he thought about being an electrician, but since all he heard about was mechanics, he decided if you can't beat them, join them. Marvin started his mechanical career at Loveseth's. He worked at a few automotive shops and was in partnership in a Texaco gas station, before starting his own shop, R & S Tuneup in 1978. Marvin thrived on repairing the most difficult automotive problems. Marvin thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to participate in the building of his own homes and the landscaping involved. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2001 at 2 p.m. from Oliver's Grande Prairie Funeral Chapel (10005-107 Ave.) Grande Prairie with Pastor Lew Wiegel officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation, or the charity of one's choice.
