Gilbert Oscar Thompson
   On May 17, 2005, after a prolonged battle with cancer, Gib Thompson of Bezanson. Alberta passed away at the age of 67 years.
   Gib was born in Camrose,  Alberta on September 10, 1937. He married Patsy Fredrickson in 1957.
   Gib is survived by: his wife Patsy of 48 years; his two sisters Joyce Thomson and Sylvia Thompson; his four children, Derek Thompson, Debbie (Kelly) Burgess, Kim (Calvin) Derr, and Shelley Snaddon; his grandchildren, Jeffrey, Nicole, Trent, Sasha, Ashley, Brandon and Lauren.
   Gib was predeceased by: his parents. Mary and Oscar Thompson and sisters Viola Pelling and Florence Adam.
   In lieu of flowers. the family requests that donations be made to the QEII Hospital Foundation-Cancer Clinic.
   Funeral service will be held on Friday. May 20, 2005 at 1 p.m. from the Trinity Lutheran Church (10407-100 St.) Grande Prairie, interment to follow at 3:30 p.m. at the Glen Leslie Cemetery.

Julia Jean Thompson
   Julia Jean Thompson resident of Bezanson, AB passed away on Friday, April 21, 2017, at Bezanson, at the age of 92 years.
Julia was born in Grande Prairie on March 22, 1925, the eldest of eleven children born to Paul and Mary Podulsky. She was raised at Bezanson and attended school at East Kleskun to Grade 9, and then attended high school in Grande Prairie and resided at the academy. After completing high school she taught school at Mountain Side.
Julia and Gordon were married October 25, 1947.
   Julia will be sadly missed by her children: Marlaine (Gary) Hessler, and Murray (Shirley) Thompson and their children and grandchildren.
   She was predeceased by her son Laurence (Laurie), her husband Gordon, her parents Paul and Mary Podulsky, and brothers Alex and Tony Podulsky.
   A Prayer service will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2017, at 7:00pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.).
   A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, April 28, 2017, at 2:00pm, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Bezanson, with Father J. Paul officiating. Interment to follow in the Glen Leslie Cemetery.

   "Gordon" Thompson, long-time resident of Bezanson, Alberta passed away on July 20, 2007 at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Grande Prairie at the age of 86 years. Gordon was born, raised and schooled at Kleskun Hills until he moved to the Bezanson area in 1945. He took on his lifetime partner, Julia Podulsky, on October 25, 1947. His family came first, always. A hard worker, his motto was "early to bed, early to rise."Gordon will be sadly missed by "his better half" Julia; daughter Marlaine (Gary) Hessler; son, Murray (Shirley) Thompson; grandchildren and great- grandchildren: Darren (Tammy) Hessler, Darienne and Brayden; Kim (Don) Fix, Logan, Kennedy and Camryn; Heather Hessler (Kurt); Stephen (Lindsay) Thompson and Emma; Jeffrey (Lindsey) Thompson and Kaitlin; and sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews cousins, and friends. Gordon was predeceased by: his son Laurence "Laurie," his father and mother Ashley and Agnes; brothers Chester Nile and Donald Ashley; father and mother-in-law Paul and Mary; brother -in-law Alex.
   A prayer service will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. at Oliver's Funeral Chapel Funeral service will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Bezanson, Wednesday July 25, 2007 at 1 p.m. with Father Julien Benedict officiating. Interment will follow in the Glen Leslie Cemetery.

   Laurence N. Thompson passed away at Grande Prairie on November 14, 1974, at the age of 21 years. Mr. Thompson resided in the Bezanson District all his life.
   He is survived by his parents, Gordon and Julia Thompson; 1 sister, Mrs. Gary (Marlaine) Hessler, of Clairmont; 1 brother, Murray of Grande Prairie; 1 nephew, Darren; Grandmothers Thompson and Podulsky; and also several uncles, aunts and cousins.
   Funeral services were held from St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church on Monday, November 18, at 11:00 a.m., with Fathers Redman and Murray officiating. Interment followed In the Glen Leslie Cemetery. Arrangements by the Oliver Funeral Home.

   Tarri Thompson, of Gibsons, BC passed away June 8th, 2015 in Vancouver at the Lions Gate Hospital. Tarri is survived by her common-law spouse Duane Hodberg, parents Berniece (Cliff) Sydbo and Wendell (Mon) Welander, sisters Sandy Seewalt, Jody (Dave) Matwichuck, Lorna Welander, step-sisters and brother Shirley (Jimmy) Gayes, Shane (Carla) Sydbo, and Joan Sydbo, as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Tarri resided in Gibsons BC, as well as in Grande Prairie AB.
   Celebration of Tarri’s Life will be held at the Bezanson Senior Centre on June 19th, at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Grande Prairie Hospice Palliative Care Society www.gphospice.ca

   Florence Adam, resident of Grande Prairie passed away at the Q.E.II Hospital in Grande Prairie on Saturday, October 14, 2000 at the age of 69 years.
   Florence was born in Oyen, Alta. on January 4, 1931. She went to school in Bashaw, Klusken Lake and Wembley.
Florence married Lyle Adam on December 5, 1950 in Wembley and worked side by side with Lyle in their businesses.
   She belonged to Aurora Chapter #46, and was a past Matron, Alamira Temple #157 and was a past president of Lotus Nile Club No. 1.
   Florence was predeceased by her husband Lyle in May 1980, her mother Mary on September 23. 1994, her father Oscar on April 7, 1961 and her sister Viola on July 12, 1995.
   She is survived by her three children; Ross (Karen) of Bezanson, Alta., Maxine of Vancouver, B. C.,
Kelly (Deanna) of Grande Prairie, Alta., her brother Gilbert (Pat) of Bezanson, sisters Joyce Thomson of Grande Prairie, and Sylvia Thompson of Barrhead, Alta., and nine grandchildren; Natasha, Cameron, Melayna, Brandon, Alexis, Adam, Sean, Brittany and Zoe.
   Viewing will take place at St. Paul's United Church from noon until 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
   Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2000 at 2 p.m. from St. Paul's United Church (10206-100 Ave.) Grande Prairie with Rev. Joanna MacQuarrie officiating. Interment will follow in the Glen Leslie Cemetery.
   Memorial donations in Florence's memory may be made to the Q.E.II Hospital Foundation Intensive care unit.

Lyle Ivan Adam passed away Monday, May 12, 1980, in Grande Prairie at the age of 49. 
   He was born in Calgary and was a resident of Grande Prairie for the past 24 years. 
   He belonged to the Grande Prairie Masonic Lodge and the Grande Prairie Shrine Club. 
   Mr. Adam is survived by his wife Florence; two sons: Ross (Jeannie) of Bezanson and Kelly at home; daughter Maxine (Mrs. Greg MacMurchy) of Bezanson; granddaughter Natasha; his father Edgar in Calgary; two sisters: Leola (Mrs. Rex Daily) of Calgary and Verna (Mrs. Nev Fellows) of Radium, B.C. He was predeceased by his mother in 1963 and a brother Max in 1953.
   Funeral service for the late Lyle Adam will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. from St. Paul's United Church with Rev. Archie Birse officiating.  Interment to follow in the Glen Leslie Cemetery. 
   In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
