Kiddine, Harry: October 9, 1924 - November
11, 2025
Harry Kiddine, long-time resident of the Kleskun Hills area, passed away
on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at the age of 101 years.
Harry Kiddine was born and raised on the
family farm outside of Bawlf, Alberta. He had many jobs in his
younger years, which included apple picking, working as a catskinner,
working in the nickel mines, and welding in the shipyards. He
eventually ended up back in Camrose, Alberta, where he had a welding
shop two doors down from a beautiful girl named Barbara. They fell
in love and got married in 1957 before moving to their farmstead in
the Kleskun Hills area. Harry and Barbara raised 5 children:
Bridget, Leona, Rod, Yvonne, and Allison. They were blessed with 5
spouses of their children, 13 grandchildren, and 18
great-grandchildren.
Harry farmed for over 60 years in the Peace
Country. He said he never really retired, he just decided to let his
son, Rod, farm and he would supervise. Harry's creativity, sharp
mind, and ability to find a purpose in life kept him young. He
enjoyed doing welding projects, feeding his chickens and animals,
farming, and finding innovative solutions to many different problems
around the farm. He was a master welder who could fabricate
anything, especially ornamental ironwork with precision, needing
nothing more than just his ideas, drawings, and cutting torch. Harry
loved to tell stories, visit with family and neighbours, and
especially, win $5 bucks in cards.
Harry celebrated his 101st birthday last month
with family and friends while still living on the farm. He was
blessed with a long and healthy life, remaining active on the farm.
Harry will be remembered for his ingenuity, humor and stories,
amazing life adventures, and the love of his family.
Harry will be lovingly remembered by his
family, Bridget and Norm Hennigar, their children Ross and Lindsey,
(their children Isabella, Talia, and Teah), Corey and Kristine
(their children Lucas, Freddie, Sophia, and Elias), Cali and Alina;
Leona and Duane Carol, their children Justin, Dallas and Andrea
(their son Maverick), Karson and Kyla (their children Karter and
Kamrie); Rod and Colleen Kiddine, their children Ellen (her daughter
Cassandra), Christa and Tim (their son Eric), Terri-Jan and Shane
(their children Ethan, Carter, Aiden, and Owen), Spencer and Chelsea
(their son Hudson), Levi and Anjoulee (their son Barrett); Yvonne
and Brian Kinsey; Allison and Rudy Maxwell, and their children Maria
and Jenna.
Harry was predeceased by his loving wife
Barbara of 66 years, in September 2023.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on
Monday, November 17, 2025, at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help
in Bezanson, Alberta. Interment to follow at Glen Leslie Cemetery.
Please join the family for a time of fellowship, video tribute, and
lunch at the Bezanson Catholic Church Hall following the interment.Condolences may be sent by visiting www.oliversfuneralhome.com Published on November 14, 2025 in Grande Prairie |
