Thomas Arnew Hillman Thomas Arnew Hillman passed away at Grande Prairie on Monday, Oct. 5, 1981, at the age of 83 years. He was born at Tillsbury, Ont. He moved to Alberta with his parents in 1903, and homesteaded in the Bonnyville area. He moved to Spirit River in 1955, where he resided until 18 years ago when he moved to Grande Prairie where he has since resided. He is survived by his loving wife, Rose (Boyd); two stepsons: Miles Marcy and Lyall Marcy, both of Grande Prairie; and a step daughter : Joyce (Ken) Parks of Vernon, B.C.; sister in law Verna Mills of Regina, Sask.; 14 grandchildren: and 18 great-grandchildren; a brother, Wilfred, of Edmonton; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by five brothers and a sister. Funeral service for the late Thomas Arnew Hillman will be held at the Oliver Funeral Chapel on Friday, October 9, 1981, at 2 p.m., with Father Glen Burgomaster officiating. Rose G. Hillman (Marcy), 93, of Grande Prairie On Tuesday August 13, 1996 Rose Hillman (Marcy) longtime resident of Grande Prairie and Spirit River passed away at Mackenzie Place at the age of 93 years. Rose was born March 21, 1903 at Arundle, Quebec. Together Rose and Donald Marcy farmed and raised their family in the Crystal Creek area for 26 years. Donald passed away in 1947 and she continued to live on the family farm for the next five years. She then met Thomas Hillman and in 1952 they were married, eventually settling in Spirit River where they owned and operated a bulk dealership and service station, Later they retired and moved to Grande Prairie. Rose was the youngest and last out of her family of 12 to survive, Rose is survived by three children: Miles (Marion) Marcy of Grande Prairie, Alberta, Lyall Marcy of Grande Prairie, Alberta and Joyce (Ken) Parks of Vernon, BC; 14 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her first husband Donald in 1947, second husband in 1981, six brothers and five sisters. Funeral service for the late Rose Hillman (Marcy) will he held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday August 16, 1996 at Oliver's Grande Prairie Funeral Chapel, 10005-107 Avenue, Grande Prairie, Alberta with Rev. Canon Isaac Graham of Christ Church Anglican officiating. Interment to follow at Glen Leslie Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, August IS, 1996 at Oliver's Grande Prairie Funeral Chapel. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers made to Mackenzie Place Resident Council would be greatly appreciated by the family. Special thanks to nurses and staff at Mackenzie Place, Q.E. II Hospital, Grande Prairie Care Centre and Heritage Lodge.
