Hazeldean Hunter
   Hazeldean Hunter passed away on September 28,1976 at the Grande Prairie Auxiliary Hospital at the age of 81 years. She was born in Listowel, Ontario and has been a resident of the Grande Prairie and Bezanson districts for the past 59 years.
   Mrs. Hunter is survived by 1 son Bob Hunter of Bezanson, 2 daughters Mary Alice Sebastian of Grande Prairie and Pamela Tissington of Grande Prairie, 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 2 sisters - Jean Barr of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Blanch Thompkins of Listowel, Ontario and 1 Sister-in-law, Mabel Hunter of Bezanson, Alta. She was predeceased by her husband Samuel in 1958 and 2 daughters, Jean, 1917 and Eileen, 1939.
   Funeral services for the late Hazeldean Hunter will be held from the Forbes Presbyterian Church, Grande Prairie on Saturday, Oct 2, 1976 at 2:30 p.m. Interment will follow in Glen Leslie Cemetery. Officiating Clergyman will be Rev. Wm. Penny. If desired donations may be made to the Young Peoples Church Group of your choice.

   Funeral service for the late Samuel Hunter, 75 of Bezanson was conducted from McLauren Baptist church, Rev. C. G. Ashdown officiating. 
   Interment was in the Glen Leslie cemetery, pallbearers Desmond Stark, Bert Ogden, Earl McLaughuin, William Moon, Kenneth Patterson and Harry Nellis. Honorary pallbearers included Rex Patterson, Ira McLaughlin, Ross Wales, Arnold Christie, Alfred Moon and John Stark.
   Born in Rockton, Ontario, July 5, 1885, Mr. Hunter came west and settled in the Grande Prairie district in 1917, farming near Bezanson. Retiring in 1951, he removed to Grande Prairie to live.
   Beside his widow Hazel, he is survived by a son Robert and two daughters, Maryalice (Mrs. George Sebastian) and Pamelia (Mrs. J. E. Tissington). A sister Mrs. Cannell, lives in Red Deer.

Mabel Sophia Hunter
   Mabel Sophia Hunter passed away at St. Alberta Alta., on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 1981, at the age of 79 years.
   She was a long-time resident of the Bezanson district and had moved to St. Albert four years ago. She is survived by one son, Bob Whalen of St. Albert; eleven grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren: one sister, Mrs. Stella Nellis, and a brother. Roy Robideau, both of Bezanson She was predeceased by her husband Nat Hunter in 1956; and daughter Eunice Arkley in 1959; and also by her parents.
   Funeral service for the late Mabel Sophia Hunter will be held at the Oliver Funeral Chapel, Grande Prairie, on Saturday, Sept. 11, 1981, at 2 p.m., with Canon E. P. Williston of officiating. Interment to follow at the Glen Leslie Cemetery.
   Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Mr.  Robert "Bob" Harry Hunter passed away at his home near Bezanson, Alberta on Thursday, November 26, 1987 at the age of 62.
   He was born at Bezanson, Alberta, where he had been a lifetime resident. He was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. He was employed as a gas fitter for Canadian Cigas and Superior Propane Companies.
   He is survived by his wife  Eleanor; Glenda (Rod) Marquardt of Regina Saskatchewan, son Douglas of Bezanson, 2 sisters, Mary (George) Sebastian of Vernon, B.C., and Pam (Jim) Tissington of Grande Prairie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
   He was predeceased by an infant son, Dale Robert, in 1961, his father in 1958, mother in 1976, a sister in 1939, and by 2 baby sisters.
Funeral service or he late Robert "Bob" Harry Hunter will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Grande Prairie, Alberta on Monday, November 30, 1987 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Dennis Aiken officiating. Interment to take place at Glen Leslie Cemetery.
   In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the New Creation Ministries, of the Lutheran Association of Missionaries and Pilots, c/o Trinity Lutheran Church, would be appreciated by the family.

HUNTER, Eleanor: December 12, 1924 - July 22, 2003

Eleanor Hunter
   Eleanor Helen Hunter (nee Wig) was born on December 12, 1924 in Shaunavon, Sask., to Edward and Wilma Wig. She was baptized on December 25, 1924 in Shaunavon and was confirmed on December 14, 1941 at White Valley Lutheran Church just outside of Eastend, Sask.
   She spent her growing-up years on the farm between Eastend and Shaunavon. As a young woman, she left home and worked as a nanny at the Gilbensons in Frontier and the Morrisons in LaFleche, Sask.
   She then returned to her hometown of Eastend to be a nurses' aide at the hospital there, and was joined by her sister in 1952 where they lived together in the nurses' residence.
   Following this, both of them attended Bible school at LCBI, in Outlook, Sask. Upon completion of her studies at LCBI she enrolled at Saskatoon Business College. Her first secretarial job was in Melville, Sask., and following her time there, she moved to Grande Prairie to take a job as a bookkeeper with Horne and Pitfield.
   While in Grande Prairie, she lived with her sister and family, and became a second mom to Marlys and Brian, her niece and nephew. Friends introduced her to Robert Hunter, and in 1960 they were married at her childhood church home of White Valley Lutheran.
   Their first home was in Grande Prairie. Shortly after that they moved to the farm in Bezanson,
just outside of Grande Prairie. Their first child Dale was born in 1961, and died shortly after birth. Two more children followed; Glenda in 1963, and Douglas in 1964.
   Throughout the years her faith and her family were the centre of her life.
   She Lost part of that family when Bob passed away suddenly in 1987, but much of her joy and love
of life were restored when her grandchildren began arriving in 1989.
In 1990 she moved to Regina and resided there until her passing on July 22, 2003 at the age of 78 years.
   Eleanor loved her Lord and was a tireless worker in His Kingdom. Among other things she was an active member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League, a regular Bible study participant and
an active volunteer at the Regina District Home Care Centre and at the Braille Centre in Regina. Her
gift of hospitality and her quiet caring ways will always be remembered.
   She was predeceased by her parents Helma and Edward Wig, her husband Robert, son Dale, brothers Orville and Don Wig, sister-in-law Janet Wig, brothers-in-law George Sebastian and Jim Tissington.
   Eleanor is lovingly remembered by daughter Glenda (Rod) Marquardt and their children Sydney
and Aidan, son Douglas (Charla) and their children Brandon, Blaine and Breanna, sister Gladys (Milton) Rude, sisters-in-law Shirley Wig, Mary Sebastian and Pam Tissington, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.
   Funeral service was held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 3825 Hillsdale St., Regina, on Monday, July 28, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev, Bryan Rosnau officiating.
   The interment will be held at Glen Leslie Cemetery, near Grande Prairie, on Monday August 4, 2003 at 11 a.m.
   A memorial service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Grande Prairie on Monday, August 4, 2003 at 2p.m.
   In lieu of flowers, donations in Eleanor's memory may be made to the Canadian Lutheran World Relief Fund or a charity of choice.
   Arrangements are entrusted to Regina Funeral Home (789-8850).
