Gerald Birnie-Browne, 64, of Grande Prairie
On Monday, September 17, 2001 Gerald "Jerry" Birnie-Browne, longtime resident of the Grande Prairie area, passed away at the Q.E. II Hospital in Grande Prairie at the age of 64 years. Jerry was born February 3, 1937 at Edmonton, Alta. Left behind to mourn his passing are his loving wife. Marlene of 40 years; son. Wade (Glenda) of Grande Prairie; son, Kurt (Angela) of Grande Prairie; four grandchildren, Shayla, Jaeden. Mason and Jordyn: four sisters, Frances (Norman) Berg of Bezanson, Alta., Ann (Elsworth) Kimble of Glen Leslie. Alta, Marg Moody of Bezanson, Elaine Moore of DeBolt, Alta.: four brothers; Buddy of Calgary, Eddy (Edna) of Olds, Alta., Don (Margaret) of Valleyview, Alta., and Jim (Gloria) of Bezanson; numerous nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. Jerry was predeceased by his parents. Rushton and Margaret Birnie-Browne; his father and mother-in-law, Marvin and Mae Jensen: brother-in-law, Lyle Jensen; one sister, one niece and one nephew. If friends so desire memorial donations in Jerry's memory may be made to the Alberta Heart & Stroke Foundation. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2001 from 7:30-9 p.m. from Oliver's Grande Prairie Funeral Chapel, 10005-107 Ave., Grande Prairie. Funeral service for the late Gerald "Jerry" Birnie-Browne will be held on Friday, September 21, 2001 at 2 p.m. from Oliver's Grande Prairie Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Vern Begalke officiating. Interment to follow in the Glen Leslie Cemetery.

Marlene Gail Birnie-Browne
   Marlene Gail Birnie-Browne (Jensen), lifelong resident of the Grande Prairie area, passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2016, at Points West Hospice in Grande Prairie, at the age of 73 years.
   Marlene was born on May 30, 1942, in Grande Prairie to Mae and Marvin Jensen. A large part of her life was making sure her family was well taken care of. She worked alongside her husband Jerry throughout different ventures such as heavy equipment, ranching, and farming. She always had many animals and pets around. Her dog Missy was very special, as well as her pet buffalo. Marlene loved nature and was an avid and knowledgeable bird watcher. She loved gardening and took great pride in her yard and flower beds. She loved the sport of curling, and never missed cheering on her favorite team. She will be sadly missed by sons: Wade (Glenda) and Kurt (Angela); grandchildren: Shayla, Jaeden, Mason, Jordyn and Jerry; as well as many family members and friends.
    She was predeceased by husband Gerald (Jerry), parents Mae and Marvin Jensen, and brother Lyle Jensen. As per Marlene's wishes, there will be no funeral service. A private family graveside service will be held. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (103 9805 97 St., Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 8B9), or to a charity of one's choice.

   Norman Selmar Grant Berg, born June 25, 1929 passed away suddenly at his home on March 22, 2010 at the age of 80 years.
He leaves to mourn his daughter, Renna (Bob) Logan and his sons, Gary (Martina), Gordon (Trudy) Berg, 10 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He also leaves a brother, Lyle (Ada) Berg and sister, Lillian Cissell.
   He was predeceased by his wife, Frances on November 21, 2009, his daughter, Ellen, parents, Gehard and Tilla, and four brothers.
   Funeral services will be held at Bezanson Community Church on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Chris Willis officiating.
   Many thanks to Pastor Chris and his support and the caring words of friends and family. You all have made a very difficult time just a little easier.
   In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association.

    Frances Eileen Berg, of Bezanson, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at the QEII Hospital at the age of 81 years.
   She will be sadly missed by her loving husband Norman of 59 years, her children; Renna (Bob) Logan, Gary (Martina) Berg and Gordon (Trudy) Berg, her grandchildren; Candace (Jason) Martin, Darren (Jennifer) Loewen, Shelly (Scott) Gardner, Theresa (Steve) Kaufmann, Terri (Quenton) Hatch, Clinton (Dannielle) Logan, Moriah, Shannon , Carson and Sam Berg . She also leaves 11 great grandchildren, and several brothers and sisters, along with their families.
   She was predeceased by her parents, John and Eileen Birnie-Browne, her brother Jerry Bernie Browne and her daughter, Ellen Loewen.
   Funeral service will be held Thursday, November 26, 2009 at 2 pm at the Bezanson Community Church with Pastor Chris Willis officiating. Interment will follow at Glen Leslie Cemetery.
   In lieu of flowers the family would kindly appreciate donations be made to the QEII Hospital Foundation Palliative Care Unit Grande Prairie, AB.
   The family would like to thank the doctors and staff on 3 North and the Palliative Care Unit of 5 North. Your wonderful care does not go unappreciated.

   Ellsworth Anton Kimble, lifelong resident of Grande Prairie, Alberta passed away suddenly in Grande Prairie on Tuesday, February 15, 2005 at the age of 73 years.
   Ellsworth was born in Grande Prairie on May 12, 1931. He took over the family farm and lived there his entire life. He enjoyed farming, camping, hunting and fishing. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Anne, sons; Tony (Peter), Bill, Danny (Diane), daughters; Mary Ann (Frank Johnson), Debbie (Bill Tinkess), grandchildren; Dennis, Jason (Melissa), Michael, Jamie, Kristy, Jeff and Matt, brother Bobby (Stella), sister Violet Wales, sisters-in-law Louise and Jean Kimble and numerous nieces, nephews and many other family members and friends.
   The family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff at the QEII Hospital for their care and compassion given to their husband and father.
   In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ellsworth's memory may be made to the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Kidney Foundation.

Mildred “Anne”  Kimble   It is with deep regret and sadness that we announce the passing of our mom, Mildred “Anne” Annette Kimble (nee Birnie-Browne) at the age of 88 years. Mom was a longtime resident of Grande Prairie. She came to the Peace Country with her parents, Jack and Eileen Birnie-Browne. She had 8 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her loving children: Tony (Peter), Bill, MaryAnn “Kelly” (Frank) Johnson, Debbie (Bill) Tinkess, Danny (Diane) Kimble; 7 grandchildren: Dennis, Jason (Chantele), Micheal (Jessica), Jamie (Fran), Kristy (Shawn), Jeff and Matt; 7 great-grandchildren: Amena, Kealynn, Alozie, Jj, Kaisean, Konner, Liam, Koltan, Henley, and Ty; siblings: Margerie (Jerry) Moody, Donald (Margaret) Birnie-Browne, Elaine Moore, Jimmy (Gloria) Birnie-Browne; brother in-law Bobby Kimble; and sisters in-law: Jean Kimble and Louise Kimble.
   She was predeceased by her husband Ellsworth Kimble in 2005 and siblings: Francis; Jerry, Marlene Birnie-Browne; Buddy; and Eddy; brothers and sisters in-law: Stella, Herman, Herbert, Violet, Alfred Wales, Elaine, and Tom Osborne. We have a huge extended family and we invite you as well as all her friends to join us for a Celebration of her Life on Saturday, August 25, 2018, at 10:30am, at Oliver's Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.).
