Wilfred Menard
With regret we announce the sudden passing of Wilfred Menard of Grande Prairie. Wilfred was born October 25, 1923 in Glen Sandfield, ON.
He moved to the Bezanson area in 1929 with his mother, father and three sisters. He spent 37 years working in Norton's Sawmill, as well as farming. He loved hunting, fishing, quading, and was also an avid card player. He was very good at his wood working. He was a longtime member of the Bezanson Golden Years Club. In 1946 he married Grace Norton of Bezanson. In the year 2000, they moved to Grande Prairie.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife Grace; sister Armyna Cuthbertson of Grande Prairie; sisters-in-law Ruby Boyer, Stella (Bob) Kimble, Laura Patterson and Shirley Boyd; brothers-in-law Earl, Ralph (Pauline) and Ed Norton as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by his infant son, mother, father, sisters Exorie (Carl), Elise (Paul) and brothers-in-law Terrance McNally and Rod Cuthbertson.
At Wilfred's request, no funeral service will be held. A graveside interment of ashes will be held at a later date in Glen Leslie Cemetery.
