DELANEY, Rose: September 13, 1921 - July 20, 2006 {also on Delaney & Fitzsimmons grave stone page}

Rose (Delaney) Fitzsimmons
   Rose was born in England on September 13, 1921. She passed away on July 20, 2006 at the age of 84 years, at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital.
   At the age of five, Rose and her family came to a farm in the Mount Star area, west of Teepee Creek. Rose, Mary. Becky and Dick went to School at Mount Star.
   On February 14, 1935, she married John Delaney. The two farmed east of Sexsmith for a number of years until John's death in 1955, leaving her with four children: Bob, Ben, Rita and Dale.
   On December 30, 1957 she married John Fitzsimmons.
   A daughter. Joanne, was added to the family to make it complete.
   Rose loved her farm; the cattle, pigs, chicken, and the grain, and more recently the peacocks and pheasants. She resided on the same farm for the last 60 years until the last three weeks of her life which were spent in the hospital.
   Rose was very active with Emmanuel Anglican Church in Sexsmith for many years. Grandma's love of Sunday suppers with her family and the card games "Tic" and "King Pedro" were some of her favourite past times.
   She will be sadly missed by her children: Bob (Mary) of Spruce Grove; Dianne of Grande Prairie; Rita (Henry Mitchell) of Teepee Creek: Dale (Theresa) of Sexsmith; Joanne (Leo Perry) of Grande Prairie; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; her sister Mary Rea, many nieces and nephews and her good friend Christina Limun.
   Grandma was predeceased by her parents Tom and Edith Smith, sister Becky Charney, brother Richard Smith. husbands John Delaney and John Fitzsimmons and son Bert Delaney.
   The family of Rose Fitzsimmons would like to thank Dr. C. Patterson, his nurse Brenda, the ladies of home care and the nurses of 5N who have taken such excellent care of Mom.
   Public visitation will be held on Monday, July 24, 2006 at 7 p.m. at Oliver's Funeral Chapel.
   A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 25. 2006 at 2 p.m. at the Sexsmith Civic Centre, with lunch immediately following, Canon Phyllis Lock officiating. Interment at the St. Stephen's Anglican Cemetery, after the lunch at approximately 4:30 p.m.
   In lieu of flowers. donations may be made to the charity of one's choice,

Rose Smith married John Delaney on February 14, 1939
Rose passed away in 2006 and was buried at the St. Stephen's Anglican Church Cemetery in Sexsmith.

BUTLER, Ruth M.: December 4, 1922 - October 18, 2002 {also on Boyer & Butler grave stone page}

Ruth (Boyer) Butler, 79, of Vancouver, B.C.
   Ruth May (Boyer) Butler passed away on Friday, October 18, 2002 after a lengthy illness. Ruth was born in Grande Prairie on December 4, 1922, the daughter of Isaac and Bertha Boyer. Ruth took her schooling at the East Kleskun School which is now situated at Kleskun Hill Museum. In 1942, Ruth and husband Dick Smith moved to Vancouver where Dick was stationed in the Canadian Army. After Dick was discharged, they remained to make their home in Vancouver.
   Ruth is lovingly remembered and survived by her son, Rick Smith; and grandsons, Ricky and Dennis. Also surviving are brothers, Ray (Rita) Boyer, Harry (Jean) Boyer; sisters, Lila Cotnam and Ada Bryenton; sisters-in-law, Ruby Boyer, Jessie Delaney and Rose Fitzsimmons and many special nieces, nephews and cousins.
   A special time of remembrance will take place at the Bezanson Golden Years Centre from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2002.

Florence Winnifred Wales
   Florence Winnifred Wales passed away at Grande Prairie on Saturday, Jan 24, 1981, at the age of 66 years. She was born at Marengo, Sask., and had been a long time resident of the Grande Prairie district. She was a member of the Aurora Chapter, OES, Royal Legion Ladies Auxiliary, the "Just Us" Club, and the Alberta Teachers Association
   She is survived by her husband John: son Alex (Susan) of Grande Prairie: two daughters, Lynore (Gerry) Park of Drayton Valley and Janice (Danny) Dorscheid of Grande Prairie; four grand children and three sisters: 'Margaret Bertram of Calgary, Evelyn Anderson of Dawson Creek and Kay Whitlock of Grande Prairie. She was predeceased by her parents.
Funeral service for the late Florence Winnifred Wales will be held at St Paul's United Church, Grande Prairie, tomorrow, at 2 p.m. with Dr. Fred Holberton officiating.
   Cremation will follow.
   Donations to the Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.

John Arthur "Jack" Wales
   Mr. John Arthur "Jack" Wales passed away at the University of Alberta Hospital, Edmonton, Alberta on Monday, May 27, 1985 at the age of 68.
   He was born in Grande Prairie and was a former resident of Glen Leslie. He moved to Grande Prairie in 1977.
   He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Grande Prairie and the West Smoky Royal Canadian Legion.
   He is survived by his children Alex (Susan) of Grande Prairie; Janice (Danny) Dorscheid of Grande Prairie; Lynore (Gerry) Park of Drayton Valley, A1ta. six grandchildren: numerous nieces and nephews; two brothers; Alfred & Charlie of Grande Prairie; one sister, Betty McLaughlin of Grande Prairie. He was predeceased by his wife Florence in 1961.
   Funeral service for the late John Arthur (Jack) Wales will be held from St. Paul's United Church, Grande Prairie, Alta., on Wednesday May 29, 1985 at 10:30 a.m. with Lori Crocker officiating. Cremation and private interment at the Glen Leslie Cemetery.
   If friends so desire, memorials to The Canadian Cancer Society, would be appreciated.
